Five lucky couples won a maritime wedding in a competition hosted by Esbjerg Municipality. They got married on board the beautiful ship Christian Radich - also known as The Darling and the Fleet. The full-rigged ship was decorated for the special occasion and served as a romantic setting for the beautiful wedding couples and their guests.

Mayor Jesper Frost Rasmussen and deputy mayor Susanne Dyreborg performed the wedding ceremonies and served champagne and strawberries to the couples and their guests afterwards.  

It was a wonderful day with the most beautiful weather.

We had a fantastic day and it was so lovely at The Old Town Hall.
All the guests have praised our wedding to the skies, and your speech was just as personal as we have hoped it would be.

We do not regret for a second that we chose to get married a The Old Town Hall by you. We felt as if we were inside a church, and in fact our wedding was even more lovely and personal, and we did not have to sing so any songs. :-)

We were married in August 2017 at Esbjerg Old Town hall (Ting- og Arresthus). The Wedding registrar was incredibly nice, sweet and kind, and made our wedding a great experience, which the Wedding registrar didn't conducted in a hurry. She had called my husband to get personal information about us before the wedding ceremony. Really kind and thoughtful of her. Greet her and thank her for her great effort. We would like to know her last name so we can write it down in memory of the good day.

Dear Wedding Office.
My husband and I got married in July 2017 at my mother's home in Esbjerg. All correspondence with you was done through my good friend (and witness).
I would like to hear if it is possible to get an additional / new original of the international marriage certificate as we have to deliver the original in another context (we still have the Danish). Of course, we would like to pay for an additional original if required. You may want to send it to us.

And then we would like to send a special greetings to the Wedding registrar, who make the day even more special than we had thought before. Would you like to receive the message below? Thank you in advance!

We would like to thank you so much for making our special day even more special than we had imagined. We had not expected your warmth and indulgence, and we were very positive and happy.
Your speech was quite special, very lovely and thoughtful.
We would like to have a copy of the speech, and use it, when we are going to have our big party at a later date.
We were also very surprised and touched the gift and the card from the Mayor.
We really think the municipality has a good style :-)
The day was just perfect, the best weather we could imagine and the best Wedding registrar we've ever experienced.

Your sweet, sociable and cooperative manner was refreshing and lovely.
We also thank you very much for the amazingly beautiful speech you held, which helped to complete our day.
We had not expected a speech of this standard. It was a big surprise on the day, and we were both moved to tears over it.
